Board of Directors 2009-2010

Mr. R.A. Chughtai is the nominee director of the Islamabad Stock Exchange. He is a banker by profession having 38 years extensive experience of banking. He has served the State Bank of Pakistan as Deputy Governor. He has been President and Chief Executive of Zari Traqiati Bank Limited. Besides having directorship in the National Commodity Exchange Limited, he has also been Chairman of the Islamabad Stock Exchange in 2006. Presently, Mr. Chughtai is the President and CEO of SME Bank Limited.

Mr. Imtiaz Haider has recently joined the ISE as its Managing Director/Chief Executive. He has more than 20 years experience in finance, business management, corporate governance, academia and marketing. Before joining ISE, Mr. Haider was group head- corporate finance, compliance and business development in a leading business group. Besides, business development in local and international market and overseeing and managing compliance issues in the Group, Mr. Haider�s last assignment in the said Group was as CEO of AKD REIT Management Company. Mr. Haider has also served as Executive Director in the Securities Market Division at the SECP where he was responsible for operations of securities markets, monitoring and supervision of trading activities including licensing and coordination and regulations of the secondary markets. Mr. Haider has also served as head of corporate governance as well as zonal manager at National Investment Trust Limited. He is a business graduate and having law degree as well.

Mr. Farrukh Younas Khan is the nominee of M/s. Y.S. Stock (Pvt.) Limited, Corporate Member ISE. He has been in the stock business for the last many years. He has also been director on the Board in 2009.

Shaharyar Ahmad has been a professional banker for over 32 years, with extensive international experience in Investment and Commercial Banking in Europe, The Middle East and Pakistan. He has held senior positions at Bank of Credit and Commerce International in UK and Spain, where he was the head of Merchant Banking Division and Chief Manager and executive in charge of Investment Banking respectively. He has headed Askari Bank and UBL also. He has also been director on the ISE Board from 2004 to 2007. In 2007 he also served as the chairman of the Board. He also served as Director of the Karachi Stock Exchange for the year 2002.

Syed Mukhtar Hussain Jaffery is the nominee of M/s. Unex Securities (Pvt.) Limited, Corporate Member, ISE. Mr. Jaffery is charetered accountant by profession. He has extensive experience of the stock market. He is elected director on the Board. He has also been director of the Exchange in 2009.

Mr. Muhammad Sharif Ch. is the nominee of M/s. Progressive Investment Management (Pvt.) Limited, Corporate Member of the Exchange. He has extensive experience of the stock market. He has been director on the Board in 2001-2002, 2002-2003, 2005-2006 and 2006-2007. He was also chairman of the Board in 2002-2003.

Mr. Muhammad Rashid Zahir is the Chief Executive of Saudi Pak Industrial and Agricultural Investment Company Limited since July, 1991. He is also chairman of Saudi Pak Commercial Bank Limited, Saudi Pak Leasing Company Limited, Saudi Pak Insurance Company Limited and Saudi Pak Real Estate Limited. He has also been director of the ISE from 2001 to 2004.

Mr. Muhammad Saeed Akhtar is the nominee of M/s. SAL Securities (Pvt.) Limited, Corporate Member of the Exchange. He is equipped with relevant experience of the stock market. He is member director on the Board.

Mr. Qaiser Mushtaq is the nominee of M/s. Baba Equities (Pvt.) Limited. He is IT professional having good experience of the stock market also. He is also member director on the Board.

Mr. Khaliq-uz-Zaman Khan is the nominee director on the Board of the Exchange. He is barrister-at-law and is the senior partner of Az Zaman Advocates and legal consultants, a law firm specializing in corporate and commercial laws with a lead practice in the telecommunication and energy & power sector.
