Imtiaz joins ISE as managing director

ISLAMABAD (February 09, 2025): Imtiaz Haider joined Islamabad Stock Exchange (ISE) as Managing Director with effect from February 8, 2010.A press release of the ISE issued on Monday said, Imtiaz Haider had more than 20 years experience in finance, business management, corporate governance, academia and marketing.

Index loses 53.10 points

KARACHI (February 11, 2025): The investors opted for profit taking in late hours and despite positive opening, the KSE-100 index closed at 9,733.36 points level with a loss of 53.10 points on Wednesday. The market opened on a positive note and the index hit 9,842.08 points intra-day high level, up 55.62 points. However, this momentum could not continue and the index closed in red.

Depressed sentiments continue on LSE

LAHORE (February 11, 2025): The depressed sentiments continued on the Lahore Stock Exchange (LSE) on Wednesday and equities registered losses amid slightly improved trading volume because of selling pressure on account of possibility of levy of capital gain tax. The LSE-25 index further declined by 24.14 points and was ended at 3025.69 against 3049.83 of Tuesday.

ISE index down 17.05 points

ISLAMABAD (February 11, 2025): Investors offloaded their positions at the Islamabad Stock Exchange (ISE) where equities showed negative signs under the lead of hot favourite amid decrease in the index. ISE Ten Index was down by 17.05 points, as the Index moved from 2,339.99 to 2,322.94 points. The volume of trade stood at 1,245,365 shares, as compared to previous turnover of 1,492,096 shares.

BRIndex30 down 55.82 points

KARACHI (February 11, 2025): On Wednesday, the BRIndex30 opened in the positive zone at 8,558.40 points, and closed at 8,502.58 points with a net negative change of -55.82 points and percentage change of -0.65. It experienced intra-day high of 8,612.55 points and low of 8,490.94 points.

Pacra assigns entity ratings to AES Lal Pir Limited

KARACHI (February 11, 2025): The Pakistan Credit Rating Agency (Pacra) has assigned the long-term and short-term entity ratings to AES Lal Pir (Private) Limited at "AA" (Double A) and "A1+" (A One plus), respectively. These ratings denote a very low expectation of credit risk emanating from a strong capacity for timely payments of financial commitments.

THE RUPEE: rates move both ways

KARACHI (February 11 2010): The rates of rupee moved both ways in terms of dollar on the local currency market on Wednesday in process of trading, dealers said. On the interbank market the rupee shed three paisa versus dollar at 84.95 and 84.99 for buying and selling, they said. In the third Asian trade euro fell, trimming some of the previous day�s gains, with investors awaiting details of a rescue package for Greece, keen to see how it could impact the euro zone economy. The euro was handed a reprieve on Tuesday after a senior German ruling coalition source told Reuters that euro zone governments had decided in principle to help Greece, prompting investors to unwind short positions in the single currency. OPEN MARKET RATES: The rupee, however, gained 10 paisa versus dollar for buying and selling at 86.50 and 86.70, dealers said. The rupee continued its slide versus euro for buying and selling at Rs 118.85 and Rs 119.35, they added.
